Border

[EN] Significant developments took place in the strategic town of Tel Abyad, located in northern Syria. The People’s Protection Units (YPG), supported by airstrikes from the US-led coalition, managed to enter Tel Abyad as a result of their ongoing operation. This advance effectively cut off one of ISIS’s most important supply routes between Raqqa and the Turkish border.

With the advance of both the YPG and the YPJ, ISIS was largely deprived of the logistical support it had been receiving through Tel Abyad. In particular, the halting of the flow of weapons, ammunition, and fighters to Raqqa severely limited the group’s operational capacity in the region.

During the operation, a large number of civilians in the area fled the clashes and headed toward the Turkish border, eventually crossing into Turkey.
